This condition can come quickly and unexpectedly, even to those who is susceptible to it. Factors such as smell of engine fumes, too much sun, or tiredness can lead to the onset of seasickness.
If you are planning to dive, you may use a non-drowsy seasickness medication. Many divers use natural alternatives such as sweets or ginger to help alleviate symptoms of nausea. You should also stay out of the sun, drink plenty of water and look at the horizon. Quite often the nausea will subside once you are under the water.
If severe seasickness sets in, you should consider cancelling any subsequent dives until the symptoms have passed and you are rehydrated.
Likewise for snorkeling, if you are prone to seas sickness and notice the sea is choppy you may wish to re schedule your trip.
Sunburn
At only 4 degrees south of the equator, the sun in extremely strong. Take sunscreen with you. If snorkeling, remember to wear t-shirt or rash vest and apply sunscreen everywhere else. Drink plenty of water before and after activity.
